Roof Designer
Position Title: Roof Designer
Summary:
Provides technical expertise in roofing to owners, contractors, architects, and other client types. Implement evaluations, design, construction administration, and inspection of roofing projects by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare plans and detail drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, life cycle costs, and bidding requirements for repair, replacement, or maintenance of existing or contemplated roofing systems.
- Acts as BTA point of contact for technical issues raised by manufacturing, design, site management, and construction firms.
- Conducts construction site audits to verify field reports and ensure acceptable construction and quality management performance.
- Understand and enter data into BTA’s OASYS system (Roof evaluation software) while performing roof surveys.
- Updates industry knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Must be detail-oriented & self-starter and have competency with Microsoft Office products.
- Capacity to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in architecture, engineering, or construction management or ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Registered Roof Consultant, and/or Registered Roof Observer from the Roofing Consultants Institute preferred but not required.
